At Transform, we're all about making disciples

The History and Beginnings of Transform

"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete." Luke 6:46-49 (NIV)

The passage in Luke 6:46-49 shows a distinct difference between those who are practicing followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and those who are hearers only. James reinforced this message in James 1:22-25. It starts, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:22, NIV) Following the Lord Jesus Christ is not a spectator sport.

For many years (1999-2010) as a lead pastor of an Assemblies of God church in Stottville NY, I pastored a church without really intentionally making disciples. I would spend hours on sermon prep for the Sunday morning service and counsel people who were struggling with life issues. Week after week, month after month and yes, year after year I continued this cycle and ritual like ministry. Visitors entered the front door and others exited out the back door. Like many other pastors who go through the motions of ministry, I felt like my efforts were fruitless at times. Then, one day God sent a man of God, his wife and children to our church. All the way from California to New York. Adam Greer was his name and his passion was to call people to discipleship and disciple making. Well, make a long story short, he sparked an incredible interest in me and turned my focus from the routine of pastoring to intentionally making disciples. Since then, my life has never been the same and praise be to God, many others also. Adam was not only an answer to prayer but an instrument God used in refocusing my efforts in becoming an active part in fulfilling the Great Commission and ...."to go and make disciples.", Today, over 17 years later, I have had the privilege of discipling over 150 people for Christ and God has grown the ministry to a point where it has an English and Spanish division, 5 Pastors, and 30 Mentors dedicated to the disciple making process. All glory to Jesus!

This website was designed to assist those who wish to trust and follow Jesus Christ thus becoming His disciples. It will assist you in going from being a hearer to being a doer. Only then will we live victoriously and establish His kingdom through the body of Christ, the local church.

Adam currently is serving as lead pastor at the Awakened City Church in KatyTexas
